Trujillo city, northwestern Peru, capital of La Libertad department. Inland from the pacific ocean. It's know it as the "SPRING'S CAPITAL" located in a coastal desert region , habitat by hospitalities people .

It is the commercial center for surrounding irrigated farmlands and on which sugarcaneand rice are grown.

The National University of Trujillo (1824)is here and the ruins of the PRE Inca city of chan-chan lie to the west. Trujillo was founded in 1534, in 1612 an earthquake caused extensive damage here .

The city's grows dates from the 1800, when irrigated agriculture was expanded .
